Production Internship

Would you like to be part of a creative team that uses food as a catalyst for change? Being within an organisation that is at the forefront of conversations around food,  societal inequalities and decolonising. Atelier Code Noir endeavours to build communities through the art of making and eating food whilst giving a platform to BIPOC makers, chefs and or creatives.  If this description gets you excited and you are an experienced project manager/events manager then please do apply.  

Atelier Code Noir is a space dedicated to decolonising the food system and driving systematic change.  We are building a vibrant community of food connoisseurs, enthusiasts, supporters, local residents and other interested parties.  We offer a program of events which include workshops, talks and dinners that creates awareness and connection among a wide audience through the medium of food.  Working to create better representation by connecting professionals and providing them with a platform to showcase their cuisines. By embracing versatility and exploring food history together we create more mutual understanding. Together we tell a story not told before and use food as a tool to tell our colonial history and get to know and decolonize our food system. We show you how food can be used to solve complex social issues. We use the possibilities of food as a material and shape our project based on this of the following principles: awareness, education, representation, fairness, inclusiveness, and connection.

Tasks

  • Ensure that all events are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Liaise with third parties and stakeholders to ensure the smooth running and implementation of events.

  • Support and develop the curation of programming, researching and finding relevant chefs, authors, cooks and people of interest for the programme.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in events coordination

  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills

  • Must be able to work well under pressure.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Experience working in hospitality would be a great advantage.

Important

A background in production is a plus, but certainly not a necessity. A love for food is a must along with an unrelenting enthusiasm to connect communities. We prefer a person from a BIPOC background. But do not hesitate to apply.
